When the Amwell Valley Winery closed it was a major bummer. It was one of the closest wineries to our home and the wine was great. New ownership came to the rescue and it re-opened under the Old York Cellars moniker. The new owners also made quite an investment in the business and completely remodeled the wine tasting building as well as the outside landscaping. We didn’t even recognize the place when we arrived.
My usual move since I am the designated driver for these trips is to try a few sips of wine and then I go take my photographs. There was an art festival that day so I knew I’d get some great photos of artists hard at work throughout the vineyard.
To my surprise their was a beekeeping area of the vineyard with swarms of bees producing honey. I got as close as I could without getting stung. A few bees landed on me, but they didn’t care to sting me. Thanks, bees! All photos in this series were shot on a Mamiya 645 Pro loaded with black & white Kodak film.
