Raritan River Festival 2013 in New Brunswick, New Jersey

New Brunswick Today asked me to attend the Raritan River Festival in Boyd Park and it was the perfect day for it. I have never seen so many people in the park and river at once. Food and crafts vendors, live music, ginormous ducks and even a stilt walker attended. The Beez Foundation had a large egg decorated for the rubber duck race. The artwork for the egg was done by Leon Rainbow. Back story on The Beez Foundation:

“The Beez Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization which raises money and public awareness to cure brain cancer thru research, public awareness and related support activities for pediatric cancer treatment. The Beez Foundation has to-date donated $250,000.00 to various organizations like Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Duke University, Ronald McDonald House and many other research and patient-service facilities.”

All of the ducks purchased were loaded into the large egg, picked up by a crane and dropped into the Raritan River.
