Third time photographing my favorite band of all time. QUEENSRYCHE! I chose a different way of approaching this concert than the others. Stay with the audience and move freely throughout the crowd for a more visceral take on things. Permission to photograph a show doesn’t mean you have to stand up front all the time like a privileged idiot. The band makes it a point to thank the audience for attending and I wanted to bring the band and audience together for this series.
The entire series is black and white. Gritty grain wherever possible. All of the weird double exposures were done in my cameras as I shot. No Photoshop or post-production trickery was necessary.
A most sincere THANK YOU to Queensryche management for allowing me to document the show from my point of view. And a note to Starland Ballroom…your sound kicked ass as usual. Give your crew a raise for the incredible work they do for every show I have attended before and after Hurricane Sandy. Fantastic venue to say the least.
