Police Unity Tour Fundraiser at Rhythms of the Night in Manville, NJ

Attended another Police Unity Tour event to raise money for Eric’s new tires for the bike ride to Washington, D.C. They must be amazing tires because this time an entire concert was held to raise money. The reality is actually summed up on the Police Unity Tour web site:

The primary purpose of the Police Unity Tour is to raise awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty.

The secondary purpose is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum.

Police Unity Tour Fundraiser at Tilted Kilt

Last night I attended a Police Unity Tour fundraiser for their annual bike trek to Washington, D.C. It was my first time going to the Tilted Kilt where everyone, including men, dress like Britney Spears in the “Baby One More Time” music video. The stained glass door led me to believe drinks would be spilled on me throughout the night, however they were delivered to the table in a very professional manner. The Middlesex County Police & Fire Pipes & Drums provided traditional tunes throughout the night. The place was packed and I was happy to see everyone come out and support a great cause.

The next fundraiser will be held at the Stress Factory comedy club in New Brunswick, NJ on Sunday, March 24, 2013.

Police Unity Tour 2013 “Riding With Honor”

Every year my friend Eric peddles his bicycle from New York to Washington D.C. to raise money for the Police Unity Tour and National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum. It’s a very worthy cause and I do my best to support it through purchasing a shirt and putting it front and center on my web site.

My friend has been riding in the annual Police Unity Tour for several years now which is organized by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The bike tour goes from New York City all the way to Washington D.C. That’s pretty impressive and it’s for a very good cause. It reminds us how many people have lost their lives in law enforcement. Their motto is “We ride for those who died”. They have to be dedicated to their jobs 24/7 and might even lose their lives protecting others.
