Vertical Freedom is a dance studio located in South Plainfield, New Jersey and offers classes in pole fitness, aerial yoga, yoga, kids aerial yoga, adult ballet, vertical barre, pole-ates and cardio & core.
We got some excellent shots of the classes in action using a 24mm tilt-shift and 15mm lenses in combination with MagMod lighting that I hung from the ceiling with blue gels.
Take a look at some of the highlights and remember to visit their web site to get more information and sign-up for classes.
The Hamilton Cafe is off to a strong start with a tasty menu that I got to photograph for their official launch. It is located in the Mercado on the ground flood of the Art Factory located at 70 Spruce Street, Paterson, NJ 07501.
All Flashpoint/Godox lighting was used with the MagBox w/ focus diffuser and full blue gel, full CTO gels and a Paul C. Buff beauty dish (gridded and diffused).
If you are looking to book me to photograph YOUR restaurant menu then head over to http://www.thatwerksphotography.com and send me a quick note through the chat box.
Every wedding is different from the previous one, but there were some changes of pace with this one that were right up my alley. First of all I had a very easy timeline with Sam and Kyle. Everything had breathing room and made photography a relaxed pace. That is normally not the case.
We got to walk all over Paterson, went to the Great Falls and then had a simple stroll back for the ceremony. All along the way we got great shots. One of them is now one of my favorite wedding photographs ever. Sam is holding her bouquet while Kyle holds a wall from totally “collapsing”.
Their ceremony was held in the vault and was officiated by one of their many friends.
Onward to reception it got nuts of course with first dances followed booty shaking and steak cutting. David and I had a lovely time shooting this wedding. Now let’s get to the good stuff…photos!
…but where’s the steak cutting portion of this extravaganza, That Werks Photography? Oh, it’s here. IT’S RIGHT HERE!
We got several amazing summer looks during our session together. It was legit hot outside so the fans were not just for effect. We cooled off where we could! Marlene was her usual magical self when it came to hair and makeup and kept everything touched up and perfect throughout the day.
I knew Alyssa and Leo would be a fantastic couple to photograph from the day we met. Their engagement session was effortless and the wedding even moreso! We got amazing captures throughout the day and below are just a few of the greatest hits.
Fiorella and Dan’s wedding was off the hook and vivacious! I was lucky enough to photograph it with Mr. David Alonso (who is also with me for many upcoming weddings at The Art Factory!)
Fiorella works with flowers so the arrangements were stellar and we spent a good amount of time documenting them. The weather was also very cooperative and we visited The Great Falls (conveniently located within walking distance from The Art Factory)
The first look and ceremony were held in the Hemp space on the 4th floor. The sunlight poured in from the skylight and created a beautiful focused beam on them as they came together and saw each other for the first time. That is now one of my favorite photos ever.
One thing that will always stand out about this wedding is the fun everyone had on the dance floor. I saw some maneuvers out there that would shame most choreographers.
Thank you so much, again, for having us along for the ride!
I’ve had my photography studio space at The Art Factory since the summer of 2016 and have seen it grow into not only raw space for a variety of projects, but now it also hosts a wide variety of events.
In our third and final entry in the styled wedding series at The Art Factory Studios we have real life couple Lisa and Chris. Incredible wardrobes, details and lighting to make each image pop right off the screen.
I’ll be photographing Sam and Steve’s wedding at Art Factory Studios this October. Until then we just had to take some photos together. You know. Kick the tires and make sure we’re a well-oiled machine on the actual wedding day. Since they’re both big music fans I wanted to make sure we worked in that element for at least a couple shots. We hazed up the room where Alice In Chain’s filmed their “Voices” music video and I brought along my Stratocaster to use as a prop. If you’re looking for an industrial wedding venue then this is it, folks.
I used several MagMod products for the interior shots and, of course, that included gels. When I first started using gels years ago I got so much crap for it. But I will never stop using them. You hear me, world? GELS4LIFE.
Without further adieu I give you SAM AND STEVE’S UNCENSORED ENGAGEMENT SESSION!
I’ve photographed a lot of weddings, but now I get to do it on home turf.
I’ve had space at Art Factory Studios for about 2.5 years now and in 2019 I already have to full blown weddings taking place there. It’s an amazing transformation from a time when I strictly did modeling sessions and headshots there. Couples have learned I exist in that space and see the great work that be done on their wedding day.
For the 2019 calendar year I am offering a ridiculous package: 10 hours of coverage2 photographers20 page album…all for $2800. That’s nuts and I know it. Of course if you want to see my portfolio that’s always available by visiting http://www.thatwerksphotography.com and I just created a section that particularly features my wedding photography. Wedding photography is something I have been doing for years, but never truly focused on solely booking. I hope you enjoy perusing the many ceremonies, engagements and destination weddings I’ve had the pleasure of documenting.
